Transforming the Dairy Sector for Zero Hunger, Good Health and No Poverty!
The Ethiopian dairy sector is one of the most underdeveloped in the world. A lion’s share of the problems are found at the base of the value chain, at milk production. Most sector constraints are cross cutting, common to nearly all engaged in milk production. They are so deeply entrenched and so long standing that they need united effort to tackle them. This brought about the need for dairy farmers to organize. On October 30, 2015 commercial farmers from most of the regional states formed an association, the Ethiopian Commercial Milk-Producers Association, ECMPA.
The change in the government of Ethiopia led to a reform and revision of the law, rules and regulations that govern civil societies. The Ethiopian Commercial Milk-Producers Association, ECPMA was reorganized and legally re-registered under the name “EthioBright” on August 11 2021.

ECMPA operates as a collaborative association committed to fostering advancements in productivity, quality, and efficiency throughout the complete dairy value chain. Our aim is to support and elevate the standards and performance levels within the dairy industry, driving towards the shared goal of sustainable, high-quality dairy production.
